Mike + Megan - Elopement at Bow Lake

OK, so seriously this is one of my favourite wedding videos I have ever done. It was also one of the hardest I have ever shot, due to a couple of intense rainstorms that hit Bow Lake RIGHT at the important moment. But what makes this video so good? Mike and Megan themselves, and all the little moments (good and bad) captured on camera. I just love how real it is, love how Megan and Mike let NOTHING dampen their spirits on, let's face it, I pretty damn awful day in the mountains. One of my cameras got knocked over by wind during the ceremony and broke as it landed in a puddle. Liz (the photographer) also lost a camera due to water damage. We had to cancel the photoshoot afterwards because everyone was so soaked, yet all made it out on a second (less rainy) day to make the magic happen. Cole (the officiant) had to run off for an umbrella because his iPad wouldn't work in the rain. An umbrella nearly blew away during the ring exchange. Everybody was freezing. But, regardless of all that, it was a damn beautiful day full of love and warm moments that made the chaos enjoyable and comical as opposed to frustrating.

Congratulations you two troopers for battling through the worst conditions I have ever shot a wedding video in. I think this video does it justice.
