Hi, I’m Ewen.
Check out the video of me being awkward, and then hire me to film your wedding so I can go back to being on the side of camera where I belong. Behind it not in front of it.
Oh and my name is pronounced yoo-uhn. Like “You Won”. Ish. - /ˈyo͞oˌuhn/ if you want to get fancy with phoentics. Though that’s probably incorrect.
About me
I’m originally from England, although for some reason everyone here thinks I sound Australian. I first came to Canada in 2005 to do PhD in Mathematical Biology, counting grizzly bears. That didn’t work out, so I made the obvious career switch to becoming a wedding videographer. OK, the choice surprised me too at the time but I quickly realised I was passionate about it and good at it. 400+ weddings later and I am still lucky to love what I do.
In my free time I was always heading to the mountains to hike, climb, ski, mountain bike etc and so I gradually moved the business from Edmonton, to Calgary and finally Canmore. So I now have the luxury of living, working and playing in one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in the world: Banff and the Canadian Rockies.
I tend to not be very in your face on a wedding day. I am pretty low maintenance on a wedding day because I have the experience to be in the right place at the right time to capture all those important and spontaneous moments as they happen. and see my job to capture your day authentically and naturally without making a big scene. Between that, the fact I keep pretty quiet because I don’t want to ruin any nice candid soundbites with my Ozzie/English accent, and my resting bitch face you may think I’m a bit grumpy (I’m just concentrating on my work! haha). But watch out for my dry, english sense of humour. It might catch you off guard.
If you ever can’t find me on your wedding day, check the candy buffet/cookie/dessert table. Pretty sure that’s where I’ll be.
