What Elopement Videos do I do?
I call an Elopement anything with fewer than 10 people and no reception. So that can be a small intimate wedding ceremony with select family and friends, or perhaps just the couple themselves doing a vow exchange and a photoshoot. Maybe it’s a Canmore helicopter elopement with an officiant and a wedding ceremony on top of a mountain, or a Kananaskis hiking elopement with just a videographer and photographer in tow.
Helicopter Elopement Videography
There are four main areas you can do helicopter elopements from around Banff National Park. They are with Alpine Helicopters from Canmore, Rockies Heli near the Nordegg/Abraham Lake area, Golden BC (several companies) and Invermere in BC (Glacier Helicopters). You can’t actually fly from (or into) Banff itself, but don’t worry all of those companies cover some stunning mountain terrain with plenty of spectacular locations to land a helicopter and say “I do” in front of some of the best views imaginable.
Hiking Elopement Videography
I would love to do more hiking elopement videos! A lot of the elopements I do are understandably at areas that are easier to access because, lets face it, hiking in a wedding dress or a suit isn’t that appealing. However, more and more people are experimenting with hiking elopements and there aren’t that many hiking elopement videographers around because, let’s face it, hiking with a bunch or camera gear and tripods isn’t that appealing either! Except for me. I hike for fun so why not hike for work. Plus I would love to shoot some elopements in magical locations that are only accessible with a bit of old fashioned hard work.

Let’s be honest, when people think of Banff Elopements they often think of Moraine Lake or Lake Louise (or both!) and yes, both of those are absolutely stunning locations for an elopement. But there are many, many more locations too such as Emerald Lake, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake and Lake Minnewanka just to name a few. Often people will visit more than one location for photos and a wedding ceremony.
