Erin + Matt – Same Day Edit

This was as our second wedding on July Long Weekend, this time in Calgary with the ceremony at St Albert the Great Church and a beautiful reception at Pinebrook Golf Course. When I asked Erin and Matt if they had any preference in terms of style or if they particularly liked any of our other videos at the pre-wedding meeting the response was “All of them”. Well…no pressure then!

Seeing as this was our Feature Package we had three people on hand for the day…Ewen and Steve as the two main videographers and Deanna on the third camera at the ceremony before she took off to work on their Same Day Edit. Erin had one of the most chill bride preps I’ve ever seen…and everyone was ready about 15 minutes early. That never happens. Mira Pucchi were definitely on top of things with the hair and make-up!

Despite threatening rain the weather held and eventually turned out really beautiful for the photo session and then reception at Pinebrook (highly recommended if you’re having a Calgary wedding but want something with a bit of an outdoor/mountainy feel). Christy Swanberg was fantastic to work with and I’m looking forward to seeing some of her shots from the photoshoot. Particularly the sunset one she took off in the golf cart for with Erin and Matt along with Steve hanging off the back!

I can’t wait to put the full video together for Erin and Matt..I got some great shots of golden hour cocktails and ice cream outside the reception…and there were some great speeches to include as well. Stay tuned for this one!

The wedding planner was Sonia from Enriched Events in Calgary…and she did a great job. She was particular helpful in making sure we were all sorted at the reception and for playing the Same Day Edit. In fact the staff at Pinebrook were also very helpful with that which is sometimes rare at a reception.

Harman + Jamie – Same Day Edit

Where to begin! This wedding was the kick off to July Long Weekend. And man…it turned out to be a long weekend. But we do what we do because we love making beautiful films…and nothing is more beautiful than a good looking couple, great looking bridal party and lovely bunch of family and friends having fun over two days of wedding celebrations.

Jamie and Harman celebrated in traditional Sikh style under very stormy skies on the first day. I love seeing two different cultures come together in this way. The second day was a ring exchange at the gorgeous venue of Northern Bear Golf Course and an amazing party at the Meridean banquet hall. I think this is the first time I’ve seen a group of people able to keep with an Indian dance party! Everyone was giving it on the dance floor.

This wedding also held a couple of firsts for me…first time I have seen the bride and bridesmaids put plastic bags over their heads to get dressed (yes that was as comical as it sounds)…and first time I’ve seen white bridesmaids dresses (beautiful idea by the way).

Jamie picked a great group of vendors…and this video wouldn’t be the same without their work. Biggest thank you of all to the amazing, gorgeous and talented Danielle from Lucier Photography. She was so great to work with…she was never in the way…super helpful…and many of the poses and shots from the photoshoot are courtesy of her skills. I can’t wait to see her finished photos..I got a sneak peak in her camera and they are going to be amazing. Go hire her!

Sunita from Sen Studios provided the make-up and hair wizardry for Jamie (this girl seems to do the make-up for every wedding I film…I don’t know how she manages it). Her work was stunning as always.

Jenna from Cocktails and Details planned the wedding and did the decor (the Meridian looked amazing!)

Nicole from Blush Beauty did the bridesmaids make-up.

VJ the DJ provided the beats at the reception.

Nav + Priya – Same Day Edit, Victoria BC

What can I say… we had the best time shooting Nav and Priya’s wedding in beautiful Victoria, BC!

We started off filming the bride and groom’s maiyan ceremonies, and this couple was not afraid to get covered! Priya was all smiles and Nav had a clever little trick up his sleeve for added protection from those overzealous friends and family members.

The ceremony day started off bright and early with makeup artist Erica Harris making sure the bride was ready to go. Tucked away on the hillside, the ceremony took place at the Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple which had a beautiful view from the temple entrance out over Victoria to the ocean.

After the ceremony, we headed over to one of the most majestic photoshoot locations I have ever seen. Hatley Castle at the Royal Roads University was the perfect location for this regal photoshoot and provided some of our favourite shots from the trip. Huge thanks to Priya and Nav and their photographer Sohal Photography for taking us there and making it a memorable part of our time in Victoria.

At the Doli we saw a couple of great fresh ideas including the outdoor threshold! There was so much room for activities! We also saw a new game for the first time when we made our way back to the groom’s house at the end of the day that involved sticks and a very confused bride and groom. Make sure to watch to the end of the video to see what I am referring to.

Everyone involved was so great to work with and all of the smiles of family and friends made our job of capturing this special occasion so easy. We felt so welcome here and will definitely be back! Congratulations Nav and Priya and thank you so much for letting us be a part of this!

Monica + Sam – Feature Highlight Video

We had so much fun working with this Monica and Sam and their families on an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day in May. Alberta weather can be so unpredictable but a 28 degree day in Edmonton was not a bad way to start off wedding season!

Sam and Monica started off their wedding day with some games and the traditional tea ceremonies. The bridesmaids began by testing Sam’s knowledge of Monica and their relationship, and if he failed, he was punished. The punishment (Have you ever heard of a bitter melon ice cube?) definitely provided for some priceless facial expressions which are featured in this highlight video.

The couple then headed over to their breathtaking venue, the Oasis Centre, where they were led through a heartwarming ceremony. We were able to capture some magical footage with the entire bridal party at the photo shoot with Nicole Ashely Photography in the river valley where we found some cherry blossom trees in bloom. Back at the Oasis Centre for the reception, the celebration and the games continued. We even got to see a game that we have NEVER seen before at a wedding (and we have been to a few) where Monica and Sam learned how to “dance” from another married couple. If you would like to see two happily married couples shaking their tail feathers and dare I say, twerking, make sure you watch this video until the end.

Congratulations Monica and Sam! It was such a pleasure working with you as well as everyone involved. We hope that you enjoy your wedding video and wish you all the best!

James + Tania – Same Day Edit Video

It wouldn’t be a May Long Weekend in Alberta without a little snow. The weather failed to put a damper on James and Tania’s special day though and James still ended up wearing shorts for a portion of the morning (not totally by choice). Huge thanks to Sofia for taking us to some great photo-shoot locations! Gasoline Alley in Heritage Park served as a beautiful venue for both the ceremony and reception, which you get to see a little bit of in this Same Day Edit. We got to have a little bit of fun with the cake toppers before the ceremony because, well, what adult doesn’t like playing with lego. Congratulations James and Tania! Thank you so much for including us on your special day.

Monica and Sam – Same Day Edit Video

A 28 degree day in Edmonton was not a bad way to start off wedding season! This was our first local wedding and also our first Same Day Edit of the year. I always love doing these Same Day Edits because I get to watch the couples reaction as they relive their wedding day moments after it all happened. It was a beautiful day, a stunning wedding, and an overall great start to the season!

Jessica + Jat – Sikh Wedding in Hawaii

Our second wedding in Hawaii of 2016…I could get used to this. Pretty hard to go wrong when you’re making wedding videos in such an amazing place. Big thanks to Jessica and Jat for flying me out for their wedding at the beautiful Royal Hawaiian Resort in Waikiki, Oahu. Over a hundred of their family and friends joined them for the celebration, and it was a great event filled with wonderful locations, amazing decor and lots of partying. It was great to be working with Cosmin Danila in a different location, and his photos looked fantastic as usual. Big thanks to him for my shots during the photoshoot. Mira Savara from Indian Weddings in Hawaii was brilliant as the wedding planner and made everything look beautiful and run smoothly, and Sunita Sumaru made the trip out to apply her mad make-up skills. DJ Palay provided the party and brought the beats, again all the way from Edmonton.

We believe these beautiful wedding stories show that we’re the best producer of Calgary wedding videos and Edmonton wedding videos available.  We reflect your wedding day as the beautiful story that it is!
